Students Participate in CTA Program

The Door County Visitor Bureau hosted its first student focused Certified Tourism Ambassador class last week at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay. In partnership with Sturgeon Bay Schools, a dozen students from the Future Business Leaders of America organization participated in the class, along with High School Principal Robert Nickel and Superintendent Dan Tjernagle. The course included sections on customer service, business communication, the power of tourism, and Door County history and attractions. Since 2009, the Door County Visitor Bureau has facilitated the CTA program designed to train tourism-related business employees that come in contact with Door County visitors. CTA Program Manager Yvonne Torres said the class gives students the tools they need to contribute to growing and enhancing customer/visitor experiences locally.
